Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsps baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  • In a large bowl cream butter, sugar, molasses, and egg until fully combined. In a separate bowl, sift together flour baking soda, ground cloves, ground ginger, cinnamon, and salt. Mix the flour into the butter mixture until fully incorporated.
  • Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour. Form into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar. Gently press cookies down and bake at 375 for 7-10 minutes.
